Do you know what this cable might be?

While upgrading out electonic systems, I found this cable and connector in the clam shell above the aft cabin. Apparently, at some time it may have gone up the pedestal. The cable runs aft to the transom, then over to the upper channel on the port side heading forward.

Obviously, it is not connected to anything, and if I could find out where it might have gone to, I might pull it out so that it doesn't confuse me anymore.

I'm guessing it's for an auxiliary device that was installed by a previous owner.

In my case, I have a RAM (Remote Access Microphone), for my VHF radio, that I mounted on the pedestal.

The actual VHF radio is mounted on the board above the nav station desk, so I had to run a similar cable to connect the RAM to the VHF.

But, it could be anything such as an old AIS device, etc.

If the cable is not being used, I would just leave it as it would probably take a couple of hours removing it.

Maybe label it as an "unknown cable" for future reference.
