If your coat hanger fix doesn’t work, try a can of compressed air like the stuff you buy at office supply stores.

Re: EU Region Europe
Jit, we have a C350 owner who lives in the Netherlands. Hopefully he will reply to your question. Also consider registering on the Catalina 34 message board - https://c34.org/bbs/index.php?PHPSESSID=bc61cfc13fdfa025a3a468257187913e&board=11.0. The MK II models have the same engine as our boat an...

Try contacting JSI Canvas. I’m not sure if they did Catalina's canvas but do know they did most on the interior cushions.

Re: Maxwell 800 chainwheel 108 - chain type
I've always has a "less than perfect" fit with my anchor chain and the windlass chainwheel. I decided to reach out to Maxwell and see what size chain they recommend for a 108 chainwheel. Here's the response: Regarding your Maxwell VW800 with a 108 chainwheel. The 3172/108 chainwheel is one...

Re: Line sizes and length
Steve, the vang you linked to shows for boats 18 - 24 ft. It looks similar to mine but I don’t think that’s it.
BTW here’s an online image compressor. Make sure the image is 256 kb or less and in .jpg (jpeg) format. https://imageresizer.com/image-compressor

Re: Line sizes and length
Bill, 50 ft sounds close to what I guesstimated for the vang.
Steve, are you saying that you have 2 separate lines on your vang? Mine appears to be one continuous piece.

Re: Line sizes and length
I’d like to piggy back on this topic. What length is the control line for our Garhauer boom vang? There’s nothing listed in the manual. I got an approximate length of 60 ft.
The manual lists 115 ft for the topping lift. Does that sound about right?

Re: Galley counter top stains
Congrats on the new boat and welcome ! I've had good luck with Bar Keepers Friend. I'm not sure if our counter tops are natural stone or something synthetic. BKF is safe to use on granite among other materials. Try it on a small out-of-the-way area first. It really works great on stainless steel.

Re: Engine Alarm / Buzzer
I replaced my buzzer about 8 yrs ago. At the time I could only find the 24 volt BRP4535S-24-CD version and it worked fine. The only drawback is that it is super loud. I purchased it from Allied Electronics - https://us.rs-online.com/product/icc-in ... m=70115827

Re: Oberdorfer repair instructions
There's a pretty good writeup on Marinehowto.com including pictures about rebuilding a raw water pump. The article has a fairly detailed discussion of how to press fit the new bearings and seals on the shaft. The pump shown in the pictures is a Johnson but the Orberdorfer and Sherwood are pretty muc...

Re: Engine DC Power On/Off Switch - What does it do?
I'm assuming you have the factory configuration of two 4D batteries. You can designate either battery (1 or 2) as your house or start battery. I noticed that my batteries were wired backwards at the factory. The best way to check yours is to disconnect the positive cable from the battery you think i...

Brett, when I replaced the gasket on mine I ordered it from Catalina Parts Dept. I tried a number of other sources (auto parts stores, etc.) but couldn't find anything close to what the factory installed.

Re: Transmission Fluid Level - 16oz, or 18.56oz ?
My approach is to wipe the dipstick clean, then wipe with a bit of acetone to remove any traces of transmission fluid. I then securely tape a matchstick size piece of wood to the blade of the dipstick and check the level. Once I've got the level correct I remove the tape and wood. It only takes a fe...

Re: replacing AC cooling hoses
Steve, is your unit factory installed? Once you disconnect both ends and start pulling you'lI know pretty quickly if it's secured or not. I added AC to my boat after delivery and was able to fish the water intake hose from the bilge to the cockpit lazarette fairly easy. I've had good luck using 10ft...

Welcome to the forum.
Without knowing the make & model of your unit and thermostat it’s hard to give definitive advice. I assume the owners manual doesn’t explain how to do this. Have you called the manufacturer?

Re: Mast up standing rigging replacement
Alex, there was a post on the C34 message board about this topic. They mentioned that some of the stay/shroud measurements listed in the manual were off by as much as a foot so I wouldn't roll the dice with a project this costly. What about removing each component, one at a time and use a spare haly...
