Propane tank

I would like to install a propane tack in the Port propane locker of which there is none.
I would like to install the largest fiberglass one that will fit.
So has anyone installed a larger metal and or Glass tank?
A dock mate had an 11# fiberglass tank that I tried. The width was fine
but it was a fraction to tall. Looking for advice from someone who has been down this road.

Do you mean that you want to hook it up with a regulator and hose? Or are you just going to put the spare tank in the port locker? I don't know why you would want to totally install a second tank, other than increasing the gas capacity of the system. But seeing how easy it is to swap out tanks when one runs dry...

I just bought a Worthington steel tank, an 11 pounder, from Amazon for $60 with free shipping, so if you go that route, there it is. They last 12 years before needing replacement, I believe.

Been out cruising, just catching up. Heard someone say that they bought the fiberglass tank and it was easy to cut a little off the handle to make it fit heightwise.
