Yes, the bolt in the bracket has about 1/2 an inch to go further out.

belt
The Westerbeke belt on my Universal 35B disintegrated after about 100 hours. The new one I got, same part # 30476, fits okay but it is a little shorter by about 1/2 inch. Are there two sizes ???? I can't imagine that the belt stretched. Also, does anybody know what size auto belt I can use instead??...

Re: Prop replacement
I talked to a C350 owner this morning, and he told me that he changed the pitch of his M 14x10 to 12 and later on to 13. He said he was very happy with the 14x13. Bill, in your experience, is it worth changing the pitch? Also, I was wondering if there is anybody who would be interested in selling hi...

Re: Prop replacement
I have read with great interest all the posts on this topic. I have the original 15x9 and it does cavitate in strong chop. As far as I can tell from the posts, the reported alternatives are: the M wheel 14x10 recommended by Catalina, and a re-picted original prop to 15x11. I was wondering if anybody...

Re: Solar panel selection
Yes, I plan to sell them, but without the regulator. I do have an old regulator morning star 10 A, which should work well with one of the panels, and I will give it away with the panels. Each panels is an ALLPOWERS, 100 WATTS, 18 VOLTS, 5.5 amps. I bought them from Amazon, and used them for less tha...

Re: Solar panel selection
Thanks to all for all the very useful feedback. I have now installed a Victron and I am beginning to have a better idea of the consumption. I was interested to see that some of you use golf cart batteries. I had not thought of that !! I have found a 200 watt panel from eBay at a very good price, and...

Re: Solar panel selection
I am trying to decide on how many panels I need to install so that to be able to rely on solar panels only while at anchor, with occasional use of the standard alternator that comes with the universal 35B, Currently, I have two soft 100 watt panels that generate a combined peak of 11 Ah, but they ar...

Re: Time for a Barrier Coat?
I had good luck with Petit Trinidad. It's a lot more expensive than ablative paintings, but it stays on for several years.

Re: Wheel or below deck autopilot?
Thank you for your comments. I thought that I can make a hole in the binnacle so the black cylinder attached to the wheel autopilot (whatever its name) can go in.. but, even if this works out, the wheel autopilot seems to be for light conditions, or for leaving the wheel for a very short period. I a...

Wheel or below deck autopilot?
The 350 I bought recently does not have an autopilot. Not including installation, the wheel autopilot costs around $1500, and the below deck one around $4000. Unless I am wrong, the below deck autopilot consumes a lot of amps (around 28). Somehow, I got the impression that the below deck autopilot i...

Re: rain water in forward cabin
Thank you all for your replies. I did trace the source of the leak to the chain plate. The seal forward of the plate was missing and it was non-existent all around it. I filled up the whole area with silicon. The "founding fathers" provided a hole in the bottom of the compartment where the...

rain water in forward cabin
This is a new boat for me, and I dont now all if its secrets! When it rains I find water in the compartment where the depth finder and speed meter are. I looked underneath the floor and I found that it comes from a hole that seems to be in the bottom under the bed near the windlass compartment. I op...
