Horizon Radio Remote wire and new radio suggestions

FYI. My ram mike coiled cable disintegrated after twelve years on the horizon radio. I emailed horizon and they replaced the cable for 40 dollars.
We live on west coast of florida. Does anyone have advice on new radio they would recommend?

Standard Horizon GX 2150 hooks up to a GPS and chartplotter to give AIS on older Raymarine C series for a total cost of $300 or so. It also has a hailer built in..
