Anybody programmed an mms I into a 402

I'm pretty sure I've done it correctly as it seems to have accepted it, but I'll be damned if I can get it to display, following the directions in the manual

Again answering my own query for anybody who might be interested.
Weirdly, about 20 tries in doing exactly, i think, the same thing, i finally managed to get the mmsi number to display.
There is nothing that actually indicates you are in dsc menu as the manual states

Fwiw the keystrokes were
Dsc
Arrow down once or twice
Dsc
