Electric Winch

Yesterday my electric winch on my 2003 C350 didn’t work.
I checked the breaker switch and it was on so brain fart wasn’t the reason.
Strange as well, when I try the winch my whole DC system shuts down for a second and then restarts .
I’m going to start doing some investigation today to see if I can find anything obvious .
Just wondering if there is any experience with this type of occurrence and what the solution was.

Hi John,

I don't have electric winches, but for grins I took your question and ran in through AI (Grok.com).

What it spit out looked reasonable to me; https://grok.com/share/bGVnYWN5_e752395 ... 09c5d364a3

You might want to re-ask the question and provide additional detail like the model number and manufacturer of the winch, etc.

The more detail, the better the results should be.

Good luck!

Bill

Bill, that is f..ing amazing.
Bang in with some of the initial investigation I have started , such as, corroded terminals on both house batteries .
The winch worked today but definitely drew more power than usual as cabin lights dimmed noticeably when it was running.
What a great resource and by the way, electric winched are total game changers in particular with in mast furling.
