Ok, I surrender. First I asked Ken and he said; and I quote, "THERE ARE NO STINKING TIDES IN LAKE LANIER ". (Sorry I asked Ken).

So, I will ask all of you for advice. I got 7 different answers and even Google can't help. My boat is 1.5 miles up stream (on the ICW) from the inlet (Venice) where the tides are measured. So, when it is say high tide (i.e., no current), can you compute what it is at my location? Same with tidal currents. If it is an ebb tide measured at the inlet, can you estimate what it is upstream?

by the way, what I do is when I get packages that use starch peanuts for packing, I toss a couple in the water to see what velocity (speed and direction) they are flowing before they disintegrate.
