Help replacing sheer stripe?

Hello all. Turning to the experts here. I have removed sheer striping and glue. I found a heat gun coupled with plastic razor blade to be the most helpful. Before removing anything I took sharpened pencil and marked top and bottom of stripe. Then using heat gun I removed striping @8” at a time with heat gun on low. Then to remove glue/sticky backing attached to hull:
1. Spray on 1st Ayd 976A degreaser to cleared 8” area. Wait 5 mins.
2. Use plastic orange razor blade to scrape gunk towards middle, then use clean terry cloth to pull off from hull
3. Spray on more degreaser and use fresh terry cloth towel to wipe off area
4. Use flexible metal ruler to mark top and bottom lines, then
Repeat for next 8” section
I did try a 3m rubber wheel, but it left difficult—to-remove brown marking on hull.
Question is- with hull cleaned and marked, does anyone have suggestions for applying new sheer stripe to ensure it’s even and looks good as new? Likely applying it solo. Any and all suggestions are welcome.
