Can new radar cable be run with mast stepped?

We are exploring an upgrade from our existing Raymarine E-80/radar to a Garmin MFD / radar.
The new Garmin radar will require a new radar cable to be run through the mast. Our boat is a 2007 with a Selden mast. The installer is not 100% sure that the new cable can be run with the mast stepped. He has talked to Catalina and they cannot provide a definitive answer. I’ve talked to the dealer I bought the boat from and he says it is possible.
Due to the logistics and cost of unstepping the mast I would prefer to leave the mast stepped for the install.
Question: have any of you with Selden masts been able to run a new radar cable up the mast while it is stepped? I will appreciate learning of your experiences with this project.
