Bosuns chair and Halyard

All, I need to get to the top of my mast but I only have 1 extra Halyard. What have you used, is 1 Halyard enough to attach to a chair to get to the top? Suggestions please.

I use my topping lift for this scenario.

I am not quite clear on the problem. I use the main halyard to lift me up in the bosun's chair, and spinnaker halyard as a safety. Even though it is coming from the front of the mast I figured it is quite safe to use as a safety line.
