Drilling rudders

I was just wondering if anyone here has drilled their rudders to see if there was any water accumulating in the rudder. On my previous boat CS27, I drilled the rudder yearly, so that the cold temperatures would not split my rudder when frozen. On our former CS 27 I drained about 2 litres of water the first time I drilled it, thereafter I probably only had a half of a litre or less every year. Thanks.
