Heaving to?

Has anyone practiced heaving to? In either mild seas/wind or heavier conditions? Just looking for thoughts from others about what went well and what could have gone better or what they’d change for the next time?

I used to heave to frequently on one of our other boats when I reefed sails, etc, but have never had to on the 350. I think it's worth a practice some time and suspect you might have to pull some headsail in to get the boat to heave to decently.
