There are two small covers on the deck just aft the traveler. I believe these are covers for the companionway hatch drains. Can anyone tell me how these are held in place? I need to remove, clean and Re-bed these covers.

Don't remove the covers if you can avoid it. Bed Bath and Beyond sells a Tervis Tumbler straw brush (no comment on the original purpose for the brush) that fits the drain and has a long wire handle. This has worked perfectly to unclog the drains.

Thank you for the reply. My drains are not blocked (yet) but I need to re-bed these covers. The sealer around these covers are in very poor shape.

I have just cut away any of the caulking that has separated, cleaned and re-caulked again with a UV resistant sealant.
