Fuel lift pump
I think my fuel lift pump may be starting to go bad and was wondering if anyone has experience changing it out. I think there are two types, one is square shaped and one is cylindrical shaped. I believe I have the square shape unit on my Universal M35B. During replacement was there a lot of fuel spilled and does it need some sort of priming, or will the self bleeding feature used during filter changes do the trick?

Re: Fuel lift pump
I removed and reinstalled my pump twice for rebuilds and never needed to prime for a start. Initially the pump was leaking fuel into the crank case. Unfortunately the company that did the first rebuild did not test the unit before they returned it and it still leaked.
