Check your secondary fuel filter mount

While doing my engine checks I noticed that my secondary engine fuel filter seemed to have fallen off its mount. On closer inspection I realized that the mount had broken away. It appears to be a modified "L" bracket and had cracked down the corner of the joint - probably due to engine vibration. I took it to my local machine shop and had it welded back together. (Hull #363, a 2005 with 660 engine hours on the engine.)

There has been a Westerbeke service bulletin regarding the failure of this bracket.

Call Westerbeke and they should send you a new one under warranty. There are a couple of posts in this section regarding failure of the bracket.
