alternate toilet seat

The hinge has broken, so I'm looking for a bit larger toilet seat. I know that I can get a larger bowl, but I don't want to take up the extra space in the head.

Has anyone installed a larger seat on the original bowl?

Remove the hinge and go to the big box store. Look through the seats that they sell that are full size. I was able to find a full size seat that had the very same hinges. I bought the full size seat and removed the hinges and installed on the seat that was on the boat. The seat was $7.00 at Home Depot.
