Helm Seat stern rail fasterners
I have a Blue Heron helm seat that attaches to the horizontal stern rail in two places [either side of the transom opening].
They are white plastic and have self-retaining thumb screws that you use to attach the fitting over the 1" rail and one has broken.
I have looked at West Marine, Catalina Direct and Catalina Yachts in St Petersburg and cannot find find them.
[I have pictures but have not figured out how to post them.]
Does anyone know where I might find these fittings?

Well I found them!
I spoke with the former owner of Blue Heron [now out of business]
They are now sold by Zarcor.com, part #Z-100, for $12.50 for one for 3 size rails. Mine was 1"

Rather than deal with a fixed seat we use a bean bag; versatile, easy to move around, comfortable, inexpensive.

Brett,
Will do, but will be 2-3 weeks before I am back to the boat to get the pictures
Also, are there some instructions I can use to learn how to post a picture?

Mike - here's how to post a picture:
Check the size of the image you are posting. It must be less than 256 kb. If it's larger than 256, almost any image editing program is capable of shrinking the size.
The image must be in jpg or png format. If it's not, an image editing program can usually save a file as a jpg.
Place the cursor in the area of the message that you want your image to appear.
Click on the tab below the message editing box labeled ATTACHMENTS. Then click on ADD FILES.
Select the file you wish to post. You may add up to 10 images in a single post.
Be sure to click on the PREVIEW button before submitting your post to be sure the image is correctly displayed.
If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me.

Re: Helm Seat stern rail fasterners
Timely. My helm seat fastener broke a couple weeks ago and happened to see this. I ordered the replacement fasteners I probably never would have found them if I hadn't checked the forum. I've attached pictures of my helm seat and the fasteners:

SV
Would you post a photo of the underside of the seat please. I would like to see how the ss legs attach to the seat bottom. I used the same seat and a short pedestal mounted on a custom base plate that sits on the removable filler piece. I liked it because I will fit in the cockpit locker when not being used. Your chair has the advantage of eliminating the filler piece making it easier to drop the ladder and access the swim platform.
Thank you
