Radar installation with antenna on mast

Has anyone installed radar with the antenna located on the mast? If so, how did you route to cable and what kinds of problems, if any, did you incur running the cable from the antenna to a display at the helm?

I just tried running a cable mid-mast for a new Raymarine digital output radar. The mast is down so I could get to the base of the mast. I ran a line down the mast Ok then tried to pull the cable at the connector end through the mast starting at an entry hole mid mast. The cable found interference around 6 feet in approximately even with the lower spreader. Does anyone know what could be blocking the passage through the mast or have any suggestions on how I can make this cable pass through. I have a Charleston Spar.
