Re: Cutlass Bearing
My boat now has approximately 2500 engine hours . Until now the cutlass bearing is performing fine, no play. To play save I like to have a new one on stock in case I need it. What are the specifications of the cutlass bearing and where can I order it in the US? Hans v. d. Weijden, Swan, 2004, #254 E...

Re: Traveler and Genoa Furling Line
Kevin, When the wind pics up it will be very difficult or even impossible to pull in your furling line without using the winch. You have a 50% change the starboard winch is already in use as described by Bill. On my boat this problem is solved with an extra winch and line clutch. See the picture I a...

Re: Looking for the owner of hull - mainsail number 264
Dear Ken,
You probable made a type because you changed #264 in #254.
Hull number £254, Swan is sailing in the Netherlands and has been a member for the last 10 years.
But I don't think the sails ended up in the Netherlands.

Re: Damper Replacement
Dear Kirk, I can confirm that the RD-22AM-4 fits perfectly. My engine had more then 2200 hours and was making a lot of noise and vibration. After replacing the damper plate last October ( I did this myself with the help of a friend using the article of Jerry Ross on the forum) it looks like I am hav...

Re: Damper Replacement
Another successful damper replacement. After postponing it for more then a year we finished the job this week. Thanks to Jerry Ross excellent step by step instruction manual. I selected the high deflection plate RD 22AM4 which I bought at the Dutch representative for only € 170,- . The result is ast...

Re: Schaefer 2100 Furling & Lower Bearing Assy
I had the same problem already back in 2011. At that point in time I contacted Schaefermarine and they told me that this particular bearing had a design issue. The part number of this bearing is 33-049-A. They shipped me a new one for only $ 130,- excluding shipping cost. It arrived within one week ...

Re: Damper Replacement
Ken, Thanks for you effort, these pictures are very helpful. I guess I will be able to do this job myself with some help of one of neighbours. The replacement is scheduled for March 2016, so I can order the new damper plate in the US the coming month. Reading all the post, my conclusion is that the ...
