Re: Oberdorfer N202M-837 will pump cooling water but not A/F

I replaced my Sherwood with the Oberdorfer N202M-908 in 2017. It has been super reliable since then. Recommend it highly. I Bought it from Sales@pumpsandpartsonline.com and the packing slip said Cardinal Pump, St. Louis, MO 314-628-0100 . In 2017 the price was $312 and bought a spare impeller $29.Go...

Re: Long distance solo racing thoughts

Hi John Yes, I did the install myself. Raymarine gave great support when I hit a roadblock, I called a few times with no pushback. NOTE: I got a large coupon from Raymarine for the system at the boat show in Newport Ri, don't remember the value, but it was significant and tipped the scales to buy. I...

Re: Long distance solo racing thoughts

Hi John, I upgraded from the ST-60 to the Evolution and i70 about 3 years ago. It was night and day difference. The Evolution is a 9 axis sensor and keeps course very well. The only week point I've found is the iTC5 which converts the old instruments to the NEMA 2000 system. It died during warrantee...

Re: ENGINE NOISE-DAMPER REPLACEMENT?

I changed my damper plate this past Feb, by myself, mostly following the blog instructions. I offer a couple of "lessons learned". This is not an easy job. I grew up in a garage and found it a little challenging. While there is not a lot of room, ask for a helper, it'll go a lot better, an...

Yes, 350s do develop the Catalina Smile. Catalina had an "official" drawing for repair. Use G-Flex epoxy.
Good luck.

Re: New to the Forum and Looking at Boats - so Many ????

We looked at two 350's. My wife was thrilled with the second and we bought it and have had it for 6 years. We still love it. If you want the comforts for the weekend cruises, then just buy it, take out a mortgage if you have to. You can always add the generator, fans, and inverter, and most likely a...

Re: Fuel Gauge Issue?

Hi BoB and Cherie, With my Universal M35B, I use about 0.5 gal per hour, so 10 hour is 5 gal. I think the tank is 39 gal, and so I think you should notice a dip on the gage after 10hrs. at mid-tank. Did the gage "wiggle" while moving with the waves or did it stay put at 5/8. Try removing t...

Re: A chunk of keel

From the look of the "fracture", it appears to be a real fracture and not a filler with a cold shut. It looks both ductile and brittle. I wish I had a better look at the fracture surfaces. If you intend to follow up on this, do not rub the fracture surfaces together as it will ruin the tel...

Re: 6 Golf Cart Batteries

I had a three battery system on a 1981 Seidelmann 30T which I sold after buying Flagship hull 314 which is in Tampa Bay. I would top off with distilled water, full charge the batteries, and then (here's the trick ) disconnect the positive cables from each of the batteries to limit parasitic loses. Y...

Re: Raw water pump

If you have a Universal M35B, Orberdorfer makes a direct replacement. Oberdorfer N202M-908 Raw Water Pump Installation. Several discount marine sites sell them. The impeller is replaced by removing the forward facing cover and a snap-ring, easy - peasy. The snap ring tool may be a new tool for some ...

Re: Cost to replace dodger, bimini snd filler

I'm having my dodger, filler and bimini replaced for about $2200. I've had quotes from $2200 to $5000. The higher quote included all kinds of extras I was not willing to pay for. Hope this helps

My fuel gauge was acting intermittently for a while and finally quit. I found an direct form/fit/function replacement on Amazon, Model Sierra 57902P Fuel Gauge Amega 2". It was $23.14 plus tax on Amazon Prime. Installing was easy, and it works great. The only difference I found was the red mark...

I recommend "Marine Formula" It makes 5200 turn to a soft putty that you can remove with a putty knife. Do not buy at West Marine, buy direct at Debond Corp. https://www.debondcorporation.com/ or on amazon DeBond MF12 Marine Formula (12 Oz. Aerosol) West Marine substituted on me and it was...

Cracked Eisenglass

I recently had a crack in the Eisenglass at an attachment point on my dodger. I stumbled across a new product, Gorilla Clear Repair Tape. It's advertised description is shown below. I bought it at Home Depot for $5.97 for 27 ft. I applied it over the cracked area 7 weeks ago and so far no problems. ...

I've not seen it yet, but I'm wondering if a weep hole could be drilled into the Oberdorfer pump. It would be a good tell tail if the the seal was leaking.
