Re: Low voltage at Temp Gauge
It was the gauge!!!!! After replacing the temperature sender, cleaning all the terminals, testing wiring continuity, and following the Universal test protocol for checking gauge (OK), I resorted to replacing the gauge. Eureka everything works. Now we can leave on our cruise to the North Channel of t...

Re: Low voltage at Temp Gauge
Scott, Thanks for your suggestions. I have done the suggested tests eliminating the gauge and a fault in the wiring. I have not done the resistance test however, I have assumed it is a sender problem and have order a new one. I'm hoping it will arrive by courier tomorrow, get it installed and solve ...

Re: Low voltage at Temp Gauge
John,
Did you finally solve problem? I have same issue. Temp gauge goes to 240 when turning on ignition and stays there. Did gauge test as per universal manual. All OK. Ran new wire from sender to gauge, no difference. Where did you check voltage?
Cheers

Re: Winterize
Yes, you can drain system from manifold. I have used following procedure for last five years without any difficulties. Pump both water tanks dry, disconnect feed from tanks to pump, suck any surplus water from from feed with "shop vac" , use short piece of hose to jump cold feed to hot wat...

RAM MIC
Taliesin, Hull #341, has an ICOM IC M402A VHF installed, probably original equipment back in 2005. The plug in for the RAM mic on the side of the binnacle has broken beyond repair. Mic is model HM-127W Serial #0203409. ICOM have changed the design and the "plug in" fitting so no joy there....

Re: Stanchion replacement #1
Just finished repairing weld on base of port stanchion with brace at the gate. Photos were excellent guidance. However the three nuts were only accessible by removing the panel above the breaker panel. On Taliesin this panel houses VHF, CD charging, Stereo , Link Battery monitor and tank gauge. A lo...

Re: Catalina cockpit table
I've had same problem with the cord in brace breaking. By the time Catalina gets a replacement to Canada it costs over $50. Ideas welcome for an alternate and a method to repair. I have noticed that there is less stress on cord if brace is folded downwards rather than upwards.

Re: Kiwi Prop
I installed a Kiwi Prop last season and have been very satisfied. Unit has 16"blades and was set to a 21 degree pitch. WOT is 2800-2900 rpm on Universal M35B engine ( motors well at 6-6.5 KTS at 2200-2300 rpm). I sail in Great Lakes and have not coated prop with antifouling. The boat is stored ...

Replacing haligon bulb
I have a burnt out haligon bulb on the overhead light in main salon on my Catalina Hull #341. I cannot work out how to open up the fitting to install replacement. Any advise would be very much appreciated. Alan C. PS. for those replacing anchor bulbs with LEDs be aware that some LED are polarity sen...

Re: cockpit enclosures
Patti,
I have the same issue coming up this spring when I intend installing an enclosure, flyscreen and clear plastic. I will probably have Genco in Toronto do the job. Attached is a link to their website with many pictures.

Shaft Size and Rotation
I wish to know the direction of rotation ( LH or RH) of the prop shift and the shaft diameter for C350 Year 2005 and Universal engine M35BC.
Thank you
