adding insulation / sound deadening material to factory air

Post by LONGHAWK »

I have the factory AC. It works like a charm, even here in the hot Gulf Coast.
However, it is very loud. I am about to undertake a project to add sound absorbing / noise reduction media in the box. I plan on adding a baffle between the return air grill and the unit to change the direct sound path.
Any one else already done this with success (or failure)?

I don't have factory air but also suffer with what I think is excessive noise from my Mermaid unit. If your efforts are successful, please report back with pictures if possible.
