Ablative v. Hard paint bottom

Post by nybor »

Gulp. I am very scared about possible answers. My 2006 came with ablative paint and I have been redoing it every so often. However, it is impossible to clean without removing some of it. Since I don't sail enough, the cleaning said most of the paint gone!!. So, am I in trouble until I get her hauled out and redone with a hard paint? Or, just let her sink...

dave

ps what is the consensus of ablative v hard anyway?

thanks

Dave,

No one best paint.

Are you in:

Fresh water/salt water?
Warm water/cold water?

What area(s) do you sail?

The best paint for Lake Michigan will likely NOT be the best point for south Florida.

Bret, I am 37 miles north of you in Venice! In fact, I would like to stop by your marina to see what tricks I can steal. I have already stolen all of the ones that Ken has...
