I just have a pic of the clew on our 150% genoa. You can see the cow hitch used in place of the 2 bowlines. Hope this helps.

And yes we are getting a new uV cover on the sail next week.

I used 12mm Marlow Yachtbraid. Its a little bigger than 7/16", so very close to 1/2".

I just wanted to follow up on the line lengths and sizes now that I got some from Cajun ropes in eastern Canada (great prices and service- free shipping to USA).

Mainsheet 1/2" x 75ft

I could have gone shorter but I went with 75ft to have plenty of excess so that even with the boom fully extended and the topping lift pulled up there is still enough to have three turns on the winch plus many feet spare. OBTW for the first time ever the funky racing cleat thing works with clean new rope.

Jib furler 5/16" x 70ft

The Schaeffer 2100 manual uses the two top holes as end tie points and 5/16" is the size that fits through. The other factors are the jib size (I have 135%) and how and where it runs to, I have it running along the stanchions with a Garhuer cam cleat fitting on the pushpit just beside the Garhuer cheek block behind the winch. This is further back and longer than the original path over the coachroof to the smaller winch (I keep the original routing in use for the assym spinnaker tackline) Even allowing for a stopper 4-5ft from the end 70ft is enough with 135% jib.

Jibsheet 1/2" x 98ft tied with a cowhitch.
