Coolant Temperature Sender Connection

Post by Pazzo »

I'm new to the forum and a novice maintaining diesel engines. I noticed that the wire to the coolant temperature sender on the thermostat had slipped off. It doesn't appear to have a tight connector to the sensor and I simply slipped it back on. Not sure if it's still making a good enough connection and wonder if taping it back in place with electrical tape will be sufficient or if I need to replace the connector. Any suggestions?

Hi Jerry,

I can't recall if the connector is a "spade" connector. If it is, just pinch the female side with a pair of pliers and that should give you a tight connection.

Yup, either pinch the existing connector or cut it off and crimp on a new one.
