Replacing Oil Pressure Switch

Post by BillBerner »

Broke a terminal today - grrr
Anybody know if I need to drain oil before replacing the switch?
Hoping it's hi enough that I won't have to.
Thanks.

Bill,
I replaced my pressure sender and did not drain the oil. I did let the engine stand over night so as to drain as much of the oil out of the upper end.
Removed the old sender and quickly reinstalled the new one with little oil leakage. The sender has a specific install socket wrench which you could use to facilitate the removal and reinstall. Some auto parts stores have a free rental/loaner of tools, you might want to try them.
Have fun and let us know how it goes.
