Raritan Marine Elegance

Post by Jack McDonald »

Has anyone installed a Raritan Marine Elegance head in the Catalina 350? I have the original Wilcox-Crittenden Newport 1600. It failed on the last sail of the season this year. Would not bring water into the bowl. It would evacuate water/solids. I've repaired this head in the past and am not sure I want to do it again. Thus, the interest in the Raritan Marine Elegance.

I replaced the Wilcox head with a Raritan Sea Era head purchased from Catalina. Works much better than the Wilcox. If you choose this head, I recommend getting the external water pump option. This will give you more room behind the head base for maintenance.

If I choose to get the Raritan Sea Era with the external pump... where do you recommend that the pump be mounted?
