Engine Bolts
Has anyone ever had a problem with engine bolts, more specifically the bolts that position the engine on the rails. Our 50 hour check was done and these bolts were loose, so a complete realignment of engine and coupling were needed. Does this sound like a warranty issue or a normal maintenance item. Your advice is always welcome. Thanks Joel
Joel,
I'm no expert but I know that the motor mounts can work themselves loose. This happened on my prior Catalina. I now check my motor mounts for black dust. If I see any dust, I bring the wrenches aboard and snug all the bolts I can get to. I did have some looseness in one of the forward mounts at 80 some hours so I tightened anything loose on that mount. The rest were still tight.

Engine Bolts
I've had the same experience. Look for rubber "soot" around the mounts.
Both nuts on the mount may need to be tightened.
I also wondered if the slight engine misalignment was the source of (or contributed to) the transient vibration in choppy seas some of have experienced.
