Cracks in Helm

Was wondering if anyone else as had the same issue and what was done if anything? The top fiberglass portion of my helm which holds the gauges and compass, on both sides, in line with the bottom edge of the gauge face plate, is developing a crack in the gel coat which run front to back. At first it was just a small crack on one side but it seems to grow each year and now is occurring on both sides and is probably 4”-5” on each side. Any thoughts?
