Greetings from 'Up North' and thank you to the Forum

Post by Boz »

Hi all, this past October, we purchased a 2003 Catalina 350 on the Great Lakes in Canada, and just became members of this Association. As I'm sure many of you can relate, a boat purchase can be a slow, drawn-out affair. As our sailboat search narrowed down, we turned to the online domain to conduct a good part of our research, as we didn't know anyone who sailed a C350, and this forum proved to be invaluable. The candid discussions and sharing of information and experiences with regards to the C350, played a big part in our decision to purchase our 'new boat'...so thank you to all of you!

Aside from the sea trial, we have yet to put some miles beneath our hull(..Canadian winters kinda hamper that), however as we do so the next couple of seasons, we hope to be able to contribute to this great forum.

Thanks again,
Andy & Shari

Welcome guys! Where are you going to moor your boat. We moved from Kincardine, Lake Huron up to Penetanguishene, Georgian Bay last year. If you are in the neighbour we would love to get together.

We have two 350's here on White Lake in Michigan as well as a 355. We are planning on Cruising the North Channel this summer for the GLCC rendezvous.

Ahh that's great to hear! So funny Ralph, our boat 'Tradewind' will be docked just a stone's throw from you, in Midland...no doubt we'll see you this season. And John 'n Bev, we have been lucky enough to cruise the stunning North Channel a lot over the years, and hope to sail our 'new' boat up there toward the end of this summer, so maybe we can link up if you're still cruising after the rendezvous. Hope to meet you all on the water at some point!

Excellent, a couple of Catalina 36s cruise with us every year, and this year we are heading up to the North Channel again. Let us know the dates and we'll try to schedule around them.

Thanks
Ralph
