Stove issue - Seaward 2 burner 2172R-2001

Post by Pete Bruzik »

Hello All,
Our two burner stove is having issues - when cooking or when the oven is on the after a while during the cooking process the thermostats can not be adjusted. they "freeze" so that you cannot adjust the flame.
This started happening in the last year - at first you could use pliers but now no...
We are the original owners of #107 a 2003
Any ideas out there??
Best to All

Pete, you might want to talk with Sure Marine - (800)562-7797 http://www.suremarineservice.com/seaward.aspx. They are now, I believe, the sole distributor of Seward parts.
It sounds like your burner valve is frozen but it would seem strange that both would go out at the same time.
Keep us posted on what you find out.

Ours is a 2006 boat, we are original owners also. This started happening occasionally about 2 years ago. After cooking for a while, the valve is hard to turn and then almost impossible. Once it cools down, it's OK again. The actual valves are made in England, I think. Not at the boat so can't take the top off and check - it's on the spring to-do list. Ken, thanks for the link to sure marine service.
