Joker Valve

Post by yodagwb »

I need to replace the joker valve. Oh joy. Any one had to do this yet? The question is how do you clear the tube past the valve or do you load the toliet up with fresh water and flush it silly and hope for the best when up open the housing for the joker valve?

yep, it's not a pretty job.
I recommend running quite a bit of fresh water (with a bit of vinegar) through firts. Then, use an evacuator pump to suck out the standing water. Do this several times, letting the leaking joker valve bleed down the contents of the vertical discharge line. It worked fine for me. A stubby screw driver (or better yet a ratcheting one) works well. I used a very small amount of sealent on the joker flange (both sides).
Good luck.
