Fuel consumption

Post by steve11 »

I recently purchased a 06 350. I will be transporting to my home approximately 350 miles. Looking for a very general idea of how much the Universal burns in an hour at 1/2 throttle to map out my needed refueling stops.

Figure a gallon an hour to be on the conservative side. Our actual consumption comes in around .7 GPH or just under 10 miles per gallon.

Over four years of running, various conditions, I can tell you that Halona burns 0.6 GpH average.
If we have a new, clean bottom and not much headwind, we have gotten as low as 0.45 GpH.
Dirty bottom, choppy seas, 15kt headwind, we figure 0.75 .
This data is over 3000 miles of run.
Hope this helps.
Al

PS: the above numbers come from an average of 2250 rpm.

I also have an '06, and I actually carefully measured the consumption last year over several hundreds of miles. We got 0.7 gph at 2000-2200 rpm, with no headwinds.
