Re: HDPE Replacement Rudders
Interesting comment about flexing as that was my initial concern. The stock rudder has a stainless "skeleton" encased in the fiberglas which gives it its strength. Are you going to be doing a rudder replacement or buying a boat with an HDPE rudder?

Re: HDPE Replacement Rudders
Welcome Wayne.
No direct experience using HDPE as a rudder material but my knee jerk reflex would be that it's not the best for this application. I assume this would be or was a custom job. Any more pertinent details?

Re: Drilling into/mouting to pedestal
Would something like this work - http://snapitproducts.com/snapit-marine ... ink-holder ? I've had something similar on my boat for the last 16 years and love it. It takes just a couple of seconds to mount or remove. No varnishing needed !!

Dan I mounted the flush controller on the face of the sink cabinet where the previous flush push button was.

Re: Marine Elegance Hose routing
Dan, when I installed mine I used a piece of 1/2” Pex tubing as a fish and just kept poking it around until it finally came through. If I remember correctly I started in the cutout behind the commode and worked it towards the space under the sink. It was slow and frustrating but eventually appeared....

I replaced my old Charles charger with a Sterling ProCharge Ultra almost 2 yrs ago and have been very happy with it. Easy installation, very customizable and seems to get excellent reviews.

Re: PSS Maintenance Kit
Ed, the PYI model number is 02-100-200. This is for a 1" shaft and a 2" stern tube. When I originally ordered mine they claimed the C350 has a 1 1/2" stern tube which turned out to be wrong. If your boat is close by, measure it just to be sure but others one the forum have confirmed t...

Re: Dodger/Connector/Bimini Canvas - Replacements
Tom I think your best bet is to try and find someone local. That way they are responsible for measurements and making sure the fit is right. Is your dodger/bimini factory supplied or made by a second party? Once upon a time JSI made the interior cushions for Catalina and maybe their canvas products ...

Re: Dead Head (But not Grateful)
Dan I ordered 8 ft of hose and had almost 2 ft left over. Not to be judgmental but I can't imagine needing a remote control for anything inside a space as small as a C350 head. Imagine having an inoperable head because you don't have a spare set of AAA batteries. It's not like you might occasionally...

Oven Troubleshooting Guide
The ovens that came with our boats are no longer built and parts are becoming increasingly hard to find. To my knowledge, Sure Marine Service (https://www.suremarineservice.com/) in Seattle is the only supplier that still has some parts available. Below is a link to their troubleshooting guide to he...

Re: Refrigerator drain
Terri I've noticed the drain that you're referring to but have no idea where it leads or any hardware associated with it that's out of view. How about a couple of shots of compressed air? Other than that maybe a call to Warren Pandy at Catalina and see if he can shed some light on the problem.

Re: Head Plumbing problem
Trevor you didn't say if you were the original owner or not but I doubt your boat would come from the factory plumbed like that. Catalina has warned about the potential contamination dangers of tying a commode into the fresh water system. If your faucets are working normally I doubt there's a blocka...

Re: Engine Control Lever
Ed I suspect your throttle/shift problem is related to either corrosion and/or a kink in the cables somewhere between the handle and the engine or transmission. Start with the engine and transmission connections first since they're the easiest to access. The black cover for the transmission lockout ...

I removed the panel when I installed a new Raritan Marine Elegance commode. I had a devil of a time getting itl out. Be sure to take a utility knife and cut the caulk around the perimeter before starting. The panel will come out making access to the top of the tank MUCH easier. The trim for the acce...

Re: Charles 5000 battery charger
Peter, I didn’t mean to imply that equalization wasn’t important. My advice was offered to owners who currently have the OEM Charles charger and lack the ability to equalize. When my charger died I specifically looked for one that had that capability. I ended up with a Sterling Procharge and have be...

Re: Charles 5000 battery charger
Dana, that charger doesn't have the ability to run an equalization cycle. The only user configurable option is to set battery type - flooded, gel, AGM. I think the most important aspects of battery maintenance and ensuring a long life is to maintain electrolyte at the correct level and to not discha...
