Re: Raymarine Radar
Bill, I have a complete Pathfinder 18" Radome with the mast mount in the basement. This might be the same as you need. If you need it for spare parts it is available. Location is South Jersey but would take it to the boat in Georgetown Md. for pickup. It also could be shipped, but might be expe...

Re: fuel leak, engine bilge
John, Yes, you should readjust the valve clearance after the re-torque of the head bolts. . Hope your oil is clean!!! Valve adjust on cold engine. Use sealer on alt. bracket bolts and tighten. I don't know the torque for these bolts, but you might find that for the size and pitch of the bolt on the ...

Re: fuel leak, engine bilge
before I pulled the head I would check under the cap of the cooling expansion tank on the exhaust manifold for the presence of bubbles when the engine is running and warmed up. The second place to look for a leak beyond all of the obvious places are the two bolts holding the alternator belt bracket ...

Re: ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SHUTDOWN SWTICH
There is a socket specifically for the oil sender. I have one, but there is no part number on it.I am located in south Jersey close to the Delaware Memorial Bridge. If you need to borrow it. Shipping would be about what I payed for it. I think about $10. I think I got it from a local auto parts stor...

Re: ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SHUTDOWN SWTICH
My oil switch was easier to replace by removing the bolts that hold the mounting bracket as well as the oil hose that connects to the filter base. I used this time to clean the mounting bolts and bracket which held the engine battery ground. Used dielectric grease to protect the connectors from corr...

Re: Leaky Hot Water Tank
Just replaced my temp/pressure relief valve that has the "blue hose" that drains to the bilge. I found a replacement on ebay for about $12 Look for a 1/2" T/P relief valve from Camco i believe. I removed the blue hose from the valve and saw that it was weeping after I tried popping th...

Re: Remote start/stop
I share your love of climbing up and down while working on the engine with the steps removed. My "work around" is to have the engine warmed up and shut down. Then turn off the engine power at the batter switch then ignition key on, remote starter push button temp installed, and when you wa...

rooster,
the transmission and rear bell housing is held on with bolts (remove completely) and aligned with two pin/studs. I can send you a pix of the parts as they came off.
I assume that you are talking about the universal engine with the Hurth transmission.
post your e-mail so I can send pix.

Some thoughts on your problem... Remove the overhead cover in the aft cabin and: Check the alignment of the cables and lubricate the shivs that guide the cables. Look for ware on the quadrant where the cables might have produced groves. Check the tightness of the cables. Remove top bearing cover in ...

Re: Engine Overheat and/or Electrical Issue
I think someone mentioned a bleed/drain valve on the engine cooling lines going to the hot water heater. Look for this cock valve and use it to bleed the cooling system while refilling the top of the manifold. If you have air in this line the circulation of coolant will be poor.

Gerld, I have installed a nextgen 3.5 kw with sound shield in hull #155 in 2011. Love the unit. It is water cooled and has a ventilation fan for the sound shield box. I added two more air inlet/outlet cowl vents under the rear seat one on each side. The fuel feed and return lines fittings were on th...

Re: Upgrade to High output alternator
Rick, I used an older GM 2" foot 150 Amp, 3 wire external regulator alternator found on ebay for about $120. Used a ARS4 smart regulator. Had to modify the tensioning bracket and changed the belt to a serpentine with new grooved pullies on the crank, water pump and alternator. This conversion k...

Re: sludge in fuel tank
Yes, The fuel sending unit mounting hole was large enough to allow some cleaning of the dirt in the lower (sump) corner of the tank. We have baffles in the tank so I removed the tank from the boat and cleaned it. Was easy to clean and drain outside the boat. This also allowed me to clean the fuel ta...

Re: sludge in fuel tank
If you want to do the complete job, you can remove the fuel tank for a complete cleaning and inspection. It takes about 2 hours working alone. You might need help lifting the tank out into the cockpit. I drained the tank first from the fuel level port. You can reach to the forward low spot to remove...

Re: fuel pump electrical help
G&J Looks like the oil pressure switch has a control over the fuel pump continued operation. This appears to be a safety feature ie. loss of oil pressure = loss of fuel pressure and this may stop the engine. The starter circuit and the glow plug circuit override the oil pressure switch to run th...
