Re: ENGINE NOISE-DAMPER REPLACEMENT?
To all who have the "transmission rattle!" I might shed some light on the damper plate issue from my experience. My engine has the PYI (Engine has under 200 hrs.) type plate installed and a fair amount of rattle noise at low speed after the transmission oil is hot.. I am replacing the damp...

Re: Coolant Level Question
The coolant leak mystery might be solved!!! The two bolts holding the alternator tension bracket to the block might be the culprit. In my case the lower ( longer bolt ) is threaded into the head all the way into the cooling water passageway. If the bolt is loose or not have it's threads sealed with ...

Re: Prop Pitch
To all who have prop cavitation, The solution for me was a KIWI feather prop. (Used for 2 seasons) Easy install, three blade design = lots of thrust both forward and astern. You can use the design guide on line and or send them an e-mail. I found them to be very helpful. I have made small adjustment...

Mine did the same thing. The deck light is covered with a plastic frame and a lens. I called Hella Marine directly and they sent me a free replacement. I got the number from this board, but cant find it now! Someone help!! They suggested I use a dab of glue to hold the unit together. Root cause of t...

Re: Above the waterline, thru hull UV damage
Dave, I replaced both the AC discharge thru hull fittings with SS units. They suffered complete failure!!! The new SS units had to be modified by removing the hose barb (cut with saw) and chasing the threads to 3/4" NPT with a pipe die. They cost about $20 each. Found at any marine discount sto...

Re: Companionway hatch board lock
I just broke a key off in my companionway lock top board. Can anyone recommend a lock to replace it. My 2006, Hull number 383, came with 2 keys and after searching high and low for additional key blanks have been told they are not available. Now I an down to one key and a busted lock. Can anyone he...

Re: Oil Pressure Switch removal and replacement
The tool is just like a 3/8 drive deep socket.
As I recall I moved some parts and wiggled it on.
I will look at the sending unit in the next day or so and see if I can remember.
