Re: Help Changing Waterline Stripe
We had a bottom job in January (Pensacola Shipyard). We brought the waterline up the stern to account for the boat sitting low in the water (A/C and genset weight). It is sooooo much better.

Re: Dodger snaps
One of our lift dot "posts" came out and our local canvas shop gave me a couple of new ones that were a little longer than the original. We replaced it with the longer one over a year ago with no issues to date (knock on wood).

Re: Help Changing Waterline Stripe
We are getting ready to pull our boat for our first bottom job and we have the same waterline issues, especially at the stern. We have decided to reconfigure the waterline, too. Please keep us posted with your progress along with some photos if you don't mind. We will do likewise.

Vanishing Zincs
This post is extracted from the C350ia MAILMAN email exchange. Original question posted by Randy Mattes , Quiet Answer II, Hull 244 "Does anyone have a problem of losing your end shaft Zinc? It seems that every time my diver goes down to clean the botttom the Zinc is gone. Is there any remedy ...

Advice on changing out the genoa furling line
The genoa furling line has some significant chafe so we think it's time for a new line. Would appreciate instructions/tips on swapping out the lines, especially as it relates to the furling drum.

Fix for PSS Dripless Shaft Seal Leak
Our PSS dripless was dripping....a LOT! First, let me give credit to Ray Edwards, S/V Maria C350 Mark I, who we often call when experiencing a problem. He knew just what to do. And, it was quick and easy if you exclude the time it takes to remove the mattress from the aft cabin. On the stainless ste...

AC -Raw water pump
The AC stopped working with an error message of HPF ( high pressure failure). We called our local guy who said the compressor was bad. No way!! The unit wasn't even 3 years old. They removed the unit to bench test it and found it was a $10 capacitor. But the unit continued to shut off with HPF after...

Here you go. Also, we often go straight to the manufacturer to purchase parts, etc.. They are always very helpful and we know we are getting the right part. In particular, Raritan, Marvair, Seaward, Westerbeke distributors, etc..
Congrats on your new boat.

High Engine Temp Buzzer
We got caught in a severe unexpected squall, in a very narrow channel that is heavy with barge traffic. Out of nowhere the high engine temp buzzer starting screaming, but the temperature gauge never showed an increase in temperature. We got out of the channel, dropped the anchor and turned off the e...

Sail dimensions for Mark II
In case someone is looking for sail dimensions for a furling main and a 135 geneoa, here are the tags from our original sails provided by Catalina when we purchased our boat new in 2008.

Re: Strong smell
For a couple of months now we have been inserting a bromine tablet (originally used in our hot tub at home) inside the metal filter inside the clear strainer behind the head. It works great! Once the thru hull is opened and the first flush commences, it takes only 1-2 seconds before the clean smelli...

Beward of Hair in Head
FYI - Hair can get wrapped around the blade in the SeaEra head and cause the blade to not work properly. The signs of this are flushing that takes longer than usual and worsens over time until waste will no longer empty out of the head bowl. The voice of experience now says, fix this BEFORE there is...

Re: Raritan sea era head -small leak
The o-ring was the culprit. Although it fits perfectly on the male side, look closely at the diagram and place on the female side. Problem solved (after much anguish!). http://www.raritaneng.com/products/toilets/electric/sea_era.html NOTE: The original problem was that the head was getting slower an...

Re: M35B Fuel Filter Bracket
We have a 2008 Mark II. Our fuel filter bracket broke and we found the filter dangling. We requested a replacement from Westerbeke as noted in the service bulletin. It was an easy install if you are a contortionist. But then again, isn't that true of most maintenance on a boat?

Electro Scan by Raritan
Does anyone have the Electro Scan installed on their 350? If so, where did you locate it? Any issues with installation and/or maintenance? We currently sail in the Gulf of Mexico and surrounding area, so we are in a salt water environment. But eventually we will travel to other areas that are not sa...
