Re: Autopilot Installation Pictures on 2004 C-350

Hi Joe, I just purchased a 2004 C350 and I’m in the early stages of installing a B an G Ram drive AP using the same tiller arm that you used. I’m wondering if your tiller had to be drilled out for the bolt that goes through the center of the rudder post? Mine is only drilled out on the outside but n...

Re: New Installation

Very good points! Thank you for that feedback. I hadn’t thought about the fact I’d be constantly pulling hot air in. Looks like it’s back to the drawing board! Thank you!

Re: New Installation

I spoke to the tech at the Velair manufacturing plant and he assures me that it is fine to pull air from the lazarette side as long as the opening is as large as the intake on the unit. So, I'll just need to cut a hole to accept a grill.

Re: New Installation

Hi Bill - I saw this AC in operation and I’m definitely sold on it. I saw it priced at $3100. I have a call into the Velair tech guy. This Ac has its input on the lazarette side of the unit as opposed to the salon side. I’m trying to establish if it wii be ok to draw air from the lazarette since it ...

Re: 350 wing keel weight

Hi Geoff - I just purchased a 350 with a brand new Yanmar 3YM30AE and I feel like the boat may be underpowered. On my 11 hr trip motoring home in calm seas I only managed about 5-5.2 knots at 3000 rpm. I know the prop is a three blade but don’t know the pitch. Do you feel your boat is adequately pow...

New owner Raymarine question

Hello - I just brought home my 2004 350 and I’m full steam ahead with my to do list. One of my first priorities is to replace the chart plotter with my B and G Vulcan. I’ve discovered from this forum that it is possible to convert from NMEA183 to NMEA2000. That’s a really good thing! I’ve done some ...

Re: New Installation

I am looking at the Velair to replace my existing unit. A friend has the 16k btu and he loves it. Some of the aspects he likes: 1. Stainless steel construction 2. Very low amperage draw. 3. Runs perfectly on a Honda generator. He runs a 9k btu simultaneously with the 16k off the one generator. 4. Go...
