Re: Engine does not start
I (mr Dopey) had this same problem and Mr Dopey discovered he had left the kill line up and did not reseat it down when he last switched off. This is the little t-handle on the top right of the console. Mr Dopey has not fallen for this one since

Re: De-lamination of engine cover assembly behind stairs
Thank you everyone for your very helpful comments . Now to fix the de-lamination and then examine the pump. Every time I turn around there is always something else to do, so I just need to stop turning around! Thanks again for your help.

De-lamination of engine cover assembly behind stairs
Greetings, Just near to finishing our dry season and a few weeks from the big tropical wet down here so would like to get my problem resolved before the humidity takes over. The laminate on my engine cover (the horse shoe shaped panel that covers the front of the diesel engine and fits beneath and b...

Re: Where to sleep
David, Have you completed your transit form the GC to Cairns yet? If not then call into the Coral Coast Marina, Airlie Beach on the way and we can catch up and swap stories! In regard to where to sleep it may depend on many things, sometimes the need to sleep alone can take precedence, i.e. snoring,...

Re: Mainsheet Clamcleat
I first replaced that clam cleat on my C34 with a Spinlock rope clutch and then again on my 350 immediately after purchase. I did so because I was scared to death to be on deck while reefing and my life potentially being at the mercy of that pathetic device, as Ken Rollins can attest to. I'll never...

Re: Mainsheet Clamcleat
Thanks Russ, I was last in Paynesville exactly 50 years ago, I hope it hasn't changed too much! Thanks for your advice, the mainsheet may be too big so I'll review the specs to check but if ok I will likely go to a clutch. At the moment I pull on the sheet with the winch then have my hand on the she...

Thanks Ken, just to be precise what do you refer to as a line stopper?Ken Rollins wrote: ↑Tue Nov 24, 2020 9:52 pm I replaced the camcleat on CKARMA 393 8 years ago when it let go in a 20 knot wind and the boom knocked me overboard. I put the Sheet through a line stopper.

Re: Pie in Edson pedestal
Hi,
About 2 years ago I cut an approx. 4" access hole in my pedestal to fit an autopilot assembly. It all worked out very well, from memory there was nothing at risk around my cuts. In my case the hole was cut about a foot off the deck on the stern side, i.e. forward of the wheel.

Mainsheet Clamcleat
Greetings, My mainsheet runs thru a Clamcleat CL240 before wraping around my starboard electric winch. The Clamcleat is totally ineffective in its current configuration as the sheet keeps popping out. The sheet is about 1 inch above the top of the cleat when wrapped on the winch. To hold it I need t...

Re: lifeline replacement
Hi Jim, I have not as yet considered replacement of the lifelines but will likely do so next year on the basis of precaution rather than any indications of weakness or rusting. I'm curious to understand what has prompted you to consider replacement such that I can inspect my lifelines for any simila...
