Ahoy, Reposting...maybe some new viewers. Need some help w my Harken 40 electric winch. One day the winch began spinning spontaneously...no idea how long; I opened the circuit breaker to stop it. Noticed what appeared to be gear oil in the galley. Now I need to find out how to refill the gear oil. N...

Re: Anti-siphon valve on engine
Late, late, late reply. Actually found the valve last fall, but didn't log it.
Finally found the anti-siphon valve; it's located in the starboard cockpit locker.
Cleaned the cap...it was stuck a bit.
All is well.
Thanks to everybody who helped.

Raw Water Strainer
Hi Folks. Has anybody relocated the raw water strainer to someplace more convenient to inspect? I'm thinking in the forward engine compartment, port side. It's easier to lift the hatch below the steps. How about installing a bigger one? My Cat 34 had a much larger one. Any insight appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, Bob Engelhart here, SV Andiamo #464, Punta Gorda, FL.
Same concern as you...difficult to inspect the strainer under the mattress.
Did you relocate and reroute the strainer and hose?

Re: Refrigeration cycling
Hi,
Bob Engelhart here, SV Andiamo # 464 in Punta Gorda FL.
Just glue gunned some insulation inside my reefer...door & hatches...metal coated roll available in HD, Lowes. etc.
No more condensation, haven't checked my cycling time yet.

Re: Westerbeke Engine Red Card Check List
Hi,
Thought I had read somewhere recently that Westerbeke had change oil changes fir the M35B to 150 hrs instead of 100 hrs.
Have you heard/read about that?
Thanks.

Re: New Member
Good luck to both new owners.
We bought Andiamo about a year ago, and still learning the her nuances.
I found that a folding prop (Gori 3-blade) really improved her sailing performance over the three-bladed fixed (barn door) one.

Hi Folks, Still a relatively new owner of hull #464, and trying to figure out my AC. It's working well, but don't know anything about it. It's all enclosed in a wooden 'box' in the cockpit locker, so can't see the actual AC. Don't know the brand, model, specs maintenance requirements or anything, an...

Hi Folks, Looks like my anchor light (bulb) has died. I'd like to replace the entire fixture w a sealed LED fixture; has anybody done this? What does Catalina use from the factory? I'm thinking maybe an Aqua Signal Series 34 and hoping that mounting lines up. Appreciate any insight. Thanks Bob Engel...
