Coolant Loss
I too have had a coolant loss. Mine has leaked mostly in the winter months. Last week I had my engine mechanic put pressure on my fresh water cooling system to find the leak. He did and it was around the heat exchanger. It has been repaired so I will cross my fingers that there are no others. Nelson...

New Prop
I replaced my old prop with the new recommended prop this weekend and I also received a new bottom job. All of this has increased my speed at cruise RPM by about 1 knot. I am pleased with this improvement, but I now am experiencing a high pitched whine in the 1100 to 1600 RPM range. This whine wasn'...

Shade Maker
Triumph, I like your Shade Maker! Can you tell me where I may purchase one? Did you have to install the gromets?
Thanks,

Raw Water Pump Leaking
With less than 200 hours, my Raw Water Pump is leaking also. It really looks like the housing is rusting away. My dealer has made contact with Westerbeke for a replacement. Will let you know the progress.

Water in the Bildge
After crawling into, on top of, around, and under all nooks and crainies of my boat, I have identified my cause for water in the Bildge (rain water and sea water when the bow dives below the waterline) The source is a little complicated to write, but I will do my best and if you wish to contact me, ...

Post subject: Raw Water Pump Housing Leaking
George, I thank you for the reply on my Raw Water Pump Housing Leak, I have already begun to elevate this issue with my dealer and Universal Westerbeke. As far as the Raymarine Autopilot parts to return, I just pulled my Fluxgate Compass and the Computer. I did not pull the Control portion (at the E...

Raw Water Pump Housing Leaking
While changing the engine oil this weekend I noticed my Raw Water Pump Housing had signs of leakage. The housing has some slits and this is where the leakage appeared to have come from. Has this been noticed by anyone else?

Raymarine Autohelm Problems
I re-installed the Raymarine 6001 AutoPilot this weekend and it now works GREAT! I wish I had sent it back to Raymarine when I first started having issues with it and not waited until I became frustrated with it. I am very pleased with the Raymarine experience and I encourage each of you to take act...

Raymarine Autohelm Problems
As I stated above, my Raymarine ST 6001 Smart Pilot would make unexpected hard turns, mostly to the left. It wouldn't hold the heading very long before it would creep away (30+degrees) left and right from original course. Large deviations between it's fluxgate compass and the mag compass. I got the ...

No Hot Water
Hans, I would shut off the hot water feed from the water manifold and pull the hot water output hose from the hot water heater. Turn on the hot water feed from the manifold and the pressure will release out of the tank and water will begin to flow, then shut off the hot water feed from the manifold ...

High Output Alternator Installation
Trevor, I really appreciate this information detailing the installation of the high output alternator and its effect on engine performance. Do you have other means of charging batteries while at anchor (Genset)? What is your battery environment (585 AH) and how do you isolate the 105 AH for starting...

More powerful Alternator Install
Kachina, Have you completed the installation of the more powerful alternator (Balmar 621-100-SR-IG)? I a eager to hear the results of the installation. Did you install it yourself and how simple was it? Did you have to change the belt for a different size? Did you realize a hit in boat speed with th...

Raymarine Autohelm Problems
My Raymarine ST 6001 Smart Pilot let me down a lot this weekend. It would make unexpected hard turns, mostly to the left. Tach Problems
My tach began to act up this weekend. It would actually change up/down by about 300 RPMs with no movement on the throttle. While throttleing up, it would jump about 1500 RPMs over my estimate of the RPMs. I never had a good feeling that it was registering within 300 RPMs of my estimate. How difficul...

Hot water heater pressure block
Hey Guys, I did run out of water in the forward tank, but I have run out of water several times with no problems for the hot water system. I hope I don't have to manually vent the hot water tank each time I run out of water. I would think the pressure relief valve would vent this pressure, but it di...

Panel Volt Meter Wired Backwards
Ken,
My Volt Meter was wired backwards also. I identified it as I was shutting down this weekend. Thanks for the recommended fix. I thought I would have to switch the feed cables at the battery or battery switch.

No water from hot water heater
This weekend I could not get water (hot or cold) from any hot water facet. I must have had a pressure build up in my tank. I first pulled the pressure relief valve and nothing came out. I then opened the water drain and nothing came out. I then shut off the cold water feed to the hot water heater an...

Spider Cracks acround stantions
This weekend, I noticed spider cracks in the gelcoat around the base of the port and starbord stantions that begin the stern railings. I know there has not been any unusual stress applied to the stern railings to cause damage. My boat is a 2005 model and commissioned March 2005. Do any of you have s...

Anchor Washdown System
Has anyone installed an Anchor Washdown system? Could you please share your installation? If no one has installed, how does this plan sound? I am thinking of installing a Shurflo pump under my Head sink and tapping into the sink drain for the input and running the output hose under the V-Berth area ...
