Re: Anchoring Flexing Noises in Windy Conditions
It took me a few trips to the deck in the early morning hours to determine the anchor roller, with its 1/4 inch space on either side of its axle was banging into the sides as the boat swung from sdie to side. I wrapped a piece of line on the axle of the anchor roller and the roller had no where to g...

Re: Lower starboard spreader shakes
Thanks for the advice from both of you. I"ll try better tuning the rig asnd see if it helps. The marina is checking the bolts that attach the spreader to the mast as I have problems going up the mast (height issues).
Thanks

Lower starboard spreader shakes
I have noriced that the lower starboard spreader shakes while at the dock during wins of 15+ MPH. The port spreader does not move but the starboard seems to vibrate a bit. As best I can tell visually the spreader is appropriately attached to the mast. Any ideas. John Z "Outstanding" 350 # ...

Grouper Zincs
I would like to hang a Grouper zinc over the transom for added protection while at the slip. However I'm not sure where to attach the clamp. I understand it must be attached to a "grounded" part of the boat. On a 2008 Catalina 350 MKII, what part is grounded and within reach to the zinc cl...

We have a 35 pound Fast Set with 100 ft 5/16 chain and 100 ft 5/8 strand. Holds well and works well with the windlass.

Propellar growth
I am interested to determine the best method to prepare the propellar for launching this spring. When she came out of the water in October the propellar had quite a bit of growth. Is there any recommended treatment to prepare the propellar for launching with the objective of limiting or eliminating ...

Re: Mainsail shape
Thanks, but the halyard is very secure when we unfurl the main. My son is a 6'4" 290 pound tackle and uses all is weight and leverage to tighen the main halyard before he uses the clete on the mast. Perhaps the halyard just continues to stretch.

We purchased "Outstanding" hull #472 new in 2008. After being hauled for the winter last fall, I noticed the collar zinc was severely deteriorated. And unfortunately there is only room for one collar zinc on the small shaft. It has been recommended that I add a "grouper zinc" whi...

We have a 2008 350 and are having trouble with the main sail on the Selden furling mast. As we sail into the wind, the main sail tends to loosen at the tack creating a bag in the sail. It is so pronunced that it will sometimes make it impossible to furl the sail into the mast. The only remedy has be...

thru hull
We purchased "Outstanding" in the spring of 2008. Now that it is on land I noticed a thru hull on the starboard side just aft of the keel which has a "protective cage" over it about the size of a half tennis ball. The owner's manual does not indicate what this is. Can anyone one ...
