Re: Removing Coupling From Shaft PSS Dripless

Wow - this is timely. Tranquil is 10 years old this year and the bellows have never been changed, so I plan to do so this fall.

Is there additional information? Located elsewhere on the site?

Thanks

Re: Fix for PSS Dripless Shaft Seal Leak

Thanks to all for the great information in this blog.

Does anyone know the shaft diameter on the 350's? I need to order the maintenance kit and nothing came with Hull #187 regarding PSS.

Thanks

Fat Cat did a great upgrade and, fortunately, my sprayer head broke off in a manner that only required a new sprayer head and gasket. Thanks Lulu and Avalon! I have placed an order for the kit - seems to be the only way to get the valve. Am guessing the fun begins once the kit arrives and the fix begins!

Happy Sails To You!

Re: Newport 1600 $6 Joker Valve now sells for $185.00

Russ Thanks so much!!! They did not have it, but referred me to 2 firms that might. One of those does not, but will see about the other. The WC/Thetford/whatever the other name is company did not know if the joker valve would be included in the $185 kit and are checking on it. Did you get your kit f...

Newport 1600 $6 Joker Valve now sells for $185.00

Wow-what a deal! Chicago - style strategies at the company that purchased Wilcox Crittenden! After snowing here last week, its warm enough to prepare the boat for launch and, similar to many owners, the Joker Valve needs replacement. A $6.85 part. Company that bought Wilcox no longer sells parts - o...

Re: Winterizing

Awesome information all in one place! Thanks to all - this is valuable information! A couple of questions: Does anti-gel = "Store and Start" type products? Transmission - ? The engine manual states to fill the trans case for the winter and then syphon out to the appropriate level before us...

Re: Rub from shore power cable

Duncan, thanks for the information! Backing in will most likely never be an option for me, and I've spent countless $ on clip on to the lifeline cord holders that dont work, as well as expensive holders that mount on the stanchions, which I currently use. Not a great visual and mostly holds away fro...

Re: New start battery works great, except every week,

Model # for C Charger on Hull #187 is 93-12305-E-B I spoke with Charles Industries about the charger and he said: the model is 9-10 years old, hence no manual. Catalina must have had them around for a while, but a very good charger. Is called "lead acid charger" and is the same as the 2000...

Thank you Brett and Ralph

Anyone have the part number for the 350 breakers? When I looked on Catalina direct they did not carry one that looks similar and of correct size.

New start battery works great, except every week,

when I return to the boat, I find the battery charger switch/breaker (on the left hand side of the panel) has been tripped, causing the House Battery 1 to drain completely from running refrigeration alone without the charger support. I've had to toss out lots of $ in moldy and rancid food every week...
