Re: Salon fixed window shattered
Same thing happened to me. I brought the cracked one to Pirate City Plastics in Tampa FL and got an exact replacement. But, probably a shop that handles plexiglass will work. For the installation, I downloaded the Catalina instructions from an earlier post on this site. Dow Corning Dowsiil 795 is th...

Re: Leak at base of main bulkhead
I have the same thing. Only thing I figure is getting rain water down the mast into the bilge is somehow getting to the bulkhead. Based on other posts I cleaned out the drain holes at the base of the mast (no help) and I am making a Sunbrella cover for the mast roller furling.

Re: Mast and water in bilge
I too have the rain leak problem at the mast and I am going to try the canvas sleeve. Just wondering if anyone has had to remove the mast and reseal the wiring conduit, assuming this is possible. I brushed and flushed out the holes but this did not solve the problem.

Re: Whale Gusher 10 Repacement
Yes, the holes were about 1/4 " off so I had to drill new ones. Bolts were threaded into the pump, instead of being through bolts with nuts, like the Gusher 10. Bolts that came with the pump were too short. Had to buy 6mmx80mm bolts to use.

Re: Whale Gusher 10 Repacement
The Whale Gusher Titian worked out fine. Just a couple of issues - bolt holes don't quite line up and had to buy longer bolts than what was included with the pump - 4 at M6x80mm.

Re: Whale Gusher 10 Repacement
Hello, I checked my Whale Gusher 10 Mk 3 today and only got about 3 or 4 pumps of flow out of it before it quit. I took it apart and found the die cast body was badly corroded with the paint chipped off and clogging the flapper valves. I checked online and found a review where a guy claimed the Whal...

Re: Rudder Shaft Noise
I traced the rudder shaft noise back to the autopilot linear actuator. The autopilot is in the process of being repaired, after a lightning strike, so, it looks like the actuator could be bad also.

Rudder Shaft Noise
I am hearing kind of a "grinding" noise near the top of my rudder shaft, in the quadrant area. Any thoughts?

Re: Fix for PSS Dripless Shaft Seal Leak
Sorry if I am lost here, would anyone happen to know the correct PSS replacement to order? Or, would anyone happen to know the shaft log diameter? I saw a post saying the shaft is 1" diameter. Thanks

Chain Plate Crack
I was polishing my stainless steel last weekend and I think I discovered 2 mid starboard chain plate cracks. It looks like the cracks propagated where the welding started and stopped.
