Re: New member here

We have put our 350 up for sale, it is located in Oriental NC. It is on the yachtworld.com web site. "Seawing" is a 2005, wing keel, well maintained boat. We spent last year in Boot key on it and loved it. Check it out!

Re: Lifting companionway ladder out of the way

I have cut the wooden top step on each side all the way back to the supporting bracket that the step is secured to, this allows you to tie the ladder up parallel to the floor. In addiction, I have cut the bottom step, starboard side all the way back to the supporting bracket to give more clearance g...

Re: Companionway Bug Screens

We made our companionway doors from Azac plastic construction wood. Used no see'em screen with removable plexi-glass panels.
We drilled 1/4'" SS threaded inserts into the hatch board channel and mount screens with SS hex head bolts.

Re: Black Dust By Motor Mount

Ken, I was just down in engine compartment looking engine over after an 8hr motor into the wind and 3 knots of tide, and noticed some black powder dust near one of my rear engine mounts. Did you ever resolve your dust issues? We put a Gori 3 blade prop on the boat this spring, and have noticed a vib...

Re: Cold Machine Electrical Issue

Our fridge also declined not to work this spring. After reading this thread and climbing into compartment to look at trouble LED, noticed there was some kind of worn sticker over it! Who new it was even there. The 5 amp and 15 amp fuses were ok, removed the ss box with pc board for closer look, and ...

The short answer is "NO", not at all! There is a thread some where in the air conditioning forum that addresses this issue. We even tried one of the slow start capacitors = junk!

Removable helm seat float

Just a quick fix for the removable helm seat, it sinks, so we just punched an old fender into the void under the back rest. It floats now!

We too are insured with Boat US/Geico for the past 4 years. We have seen 50% rate increases in the past two years, no claims. We are on the east coast (Long Is., NY).

Re: Black Dust By Motor Mount

In the Boat US magazine (Oct/Nov 2018, issue), beginning on page 77, there is a troubleshooting flow chart about engine vibrations. The flow chart begins with (worn engine mounts) and the rubber residue next to a engine mount.

So have you noticed any additional vibrations?

Sherwood water pump

Has anyone replaced the original Sherwood water pump on the Universal diesel M-35b with the Oberdorfer? if so... would you like to sell the Sherwood?
We are looking for a spare.

Re: Scam alert

We got the letter from "Maritime Documentation Center", a courtesy notice for vessel renewal today. We called the "Center" and asked to be taken of their mailing list and were hung up on. Sound familiar...in todays robo/fishing/scam call diarrhea.

Thanks for the heads!
