Upper spreader

Still hoping to get a measurement of the upper spreader length? Anyone with that information thanks in advance!

Re: Anyone With A Dutchman System ?

Ken I also went with the single line system. I guess you could install the stationary ball and monofilament slider on halyard but the slider has a slot for 1/4 inch line and topping lift is 1/2” (or so). They may have a larger slider that works on larger topping lift diameter. I personally wouldn’t ...

Spreader length

My sailmaker had a question about the spreaders on my 350 MK II that I couldn’t answer properly as the boat is put away for the season. He asked for the spreader length from the centerline(conventional Main). So from luff track to the masthead shroud? I think this is standard as the chainplates are ...

Re: Anyone With A Dutchman System ?

Not sure I understand your question. The Dutchman has its own line that attaches to the topping lift that has a stop “balls” and sliders that the monofilament attaches to. The topping lift remains unchanged just not all the way out.

Re: Anyone With A Dutchman System ?

Ken I replaced the continuous with single. It is nicer to work with as adjusting the continuous is hard to reach at boom end. It does require zippers or hook and loop on sail cover where the nylon comes down, or relying on the rigid boom vang to replace the topping lift. I think it best to have the ...

Re: Cockpit Table Top Lid Repair -Lid Material?

I don’t know if Catalina Direct has this part but “Donna Marie” has a teak door. With a routed edge to fit into recess.
It has proved plenty sturdy and has a nice look.

Re: Under Helm and Rudder Maintenance

I have seen a cable replacement kit at defender.com.
You might want to examine the rudder bushings and consider if they need replacement before doing the cable as this bigger job would entail removing the quadrant. Cables attach and wrap on the quadrant.

Re: Stock Bose Speaker Replacement Options?

Antonio, I installed the sub at the same time. A ten inche is what I put in. In a previous post I think I said 8”. 8 would work pretty well also. I would imagine they would sound pretty good without the extra lower end. I know JL also has 7.7” and 8.8 inch speakers. I don’t. See the 8.8 working due ...

Re: Stock Bose Speaker Replacement Options?

Dedgell https://www.jlaudio.com/collections/mar ... -vex-93402 You can get other grills. I didn’t hook up the RGB lighting but as an afterthought they might be nice mood lighting if you could control them effectively to not mess with night vision and such. I don’t have good pics of sub install and b...

Re: Stock Bose Speaker Replacement Options?

Antonio JL Audio makes solid marine grade equipment. Sturdy polyethylene drivers, solid enclosures. They sound great. The stock Bose were in my opinion horrible. I could not find better drivers to fit the enclosure and work well. And I looked extensively. These two ways from JL are made for mounting...

Re: Selden Gennaker Bowsprit

Previous posts cover this topic pretty well. Snatch block or block (cheaper) on a long soft shackle from the stern cleat works well. With good sheeting angle to the clew. Furling is tight at the top and somewhat loose on the clew so leaving up all the time might result in flapping. Your results may ...

Re: Drilling into/mouting to pedestal

Winch handle..down low on the stainless support tube for the table facing forward but it seemed to get hit or in the way too often. So I removed it. I keep two tucked between the line bags on the coach house roof either side of the companionway. Easily close enough to the primaries or the winches fo...

Re: Drilling into/mouting to pedestal

I used two of these drink holders from Edson. https://edsonmarine.com/single-clamp-on-drink-holder-white-poly-base/ They tuck up close to the pedestal, are sturdy, adjustable, low maintenance, don’t mess with the sunbrella wheel/table cover. The boat is tucked away for the season lest I get you a ph...

Pelican hook threading?

I blew out my stern lifeline pelican hook. While a bit of line is a temporary fix I want to order a new one and a backup spare. Does anyone know if all the lines on MKII’s area right hand threaded? Pretty certain they are 5/16 threading. Any help would be appreciated as I will be layed up and away f...

I learned to sail on Bear Lake! Love a good Pickleville!
You could always template your own lightweight mats/rugs (sailrite has instructions). I know a boat owner who likely would put some basting on the ends for a modest fee.

Re: Dead Head (But not Grateful)

Did you have to undo the waste tank to get
the waste hose to the top of the tank?
Also curious about fresh water source. I assume you can run a line from vanity sink. Did you have a source for the pex and plastic quick connections?

Hatch size/covers

I want to get some hatch covers for the Lewmar hatches on “Donna Marie” 489. A quick search showed canvas covers by Oceansouth and Lewmar. Outland covers are a possibility also. Outland looks like measuring/template needed although with the amount of owner of C350 they may have dimensions. The boat ...
