Re: Overboard Discharge

Interesting. Thanks. Seems like many of us have experienced this issue at one time or another. I may try the plastic seal approach once I confirm the ball valve is operating properly and after letting the septic cleaner loosen up the sludge. I'm also curious to see if I can find the drain opening at...

Re: Overboard Discharge

Another good suggestion. Thanks. I can try that one before the haul out to at least see if I can get the hose to feed into the drain area. My plan now leading up to haul out is: use some septic tank cleaner to try to soften/disolve sludge; confirm ball valve is operating by removing handle; feed old...

Re: Overboard Discharge

Thanks John. Good advice. If I go that route I think I'll try a plumber's snake and/or heavy gauge wire. I'll be hauling the boat briefly in August so I can try it while on the hard.

Re: Overboard Discharge

Thanks to both for the additional info. I'll slip off the red handle to see if the ball valve is working next time I'm at the boat. If so, it seems a pretty good bet sludge is clogging the bottom of the tank. I read in another thread some have had success with septic cleaner from Walmart in resolvin...

Re: Overboard Discharge

Thanks Russ. Now that I've confirmed there's no seacock where the discharge exits the boat, I think I'll let the contractor figure out whether the hang up is at the ball valve, the bottom of the tank (or elsewhere).

Re: Overboard Discharge

Thanks Brett. I would have been surprised to hear there's a seacock I hadn't noticed before. My guess is the ball valve is no longer working, that is it's not opening even when the red handle is moved to the open position.

Overboard Discharge

Is there a sea cock at the through hull for the overboard discharge? I can't get to the boat for a while and need to answer this inquiry from a contractor who is going to look into some issues we're having with the head, one of which is that opening the overboard discharge valve underneath the black...

Re: Mystery Cushion

Thanks Brett. They're not good photos but the cushion is much more substantial than the seat cushion sold by WM. In fact it matches every other cushion on the boat in terms of material, color, quality, etc. I ultimately had Catalina make me the correct cushion to convert the table to a berth, and th...

Mystery Cushion

This cushion came with my 2011 350 I purchased a couple of years ago. I thought it was for converting the table to a sleeping berth but it's not. Can anyone tell me what it might be used for?

Recommendations for Replacing Electronics

I'm considering replacing the original Raymarine electronics (C80 Chartplotter, ST6002 autopilot, etc.) with upgraded equipment on my 2008 C350 MKII. Adding AIS integrated into the chartplotter is a "must have" while radar and forward looking sonar are "nice to haves." I'm leanin...

Re: Cabin Light fixture switch failed

Gary and Janet - Thank you so much! Very thorough and helpful advice and I appreciate your generous offer. I'll likely just replace the one fixture with the original type (or just the switch - I'll send you a PM) since the other fixtures all look fine at this point and we haven't had any concerns ab...

Cabin Light fixture switch failed

The switch on one of the cabin light fixtures failed; one that has a white glass shade not a silver flush mounted fixture. (Tried to post a pic but even a few hundred kb image was too large) Any suggestions on how to remove the fixture and where to find a replacement? Thanks.

Good suggestion. I'll give that a try when the boat is hauled next month for bottom painting. Thanks.

Re: Macerator switch/Overboard Discharge

Thanks for the replies Mike. It sounds like I have the same setup you're describing. When I opened the discharge valve with the red handle nothing happened so, looking at other posts, I need to check the air vent. If that doesn't do it, I'll need to figure out how to clear a likely clog at the botto...

Macerator switch/Overboard Discharge

I have a recently-purchased 2008 C350 (MKII) with a head set up to operate on raw and/or fresh water. When I flipped the macerator switch on the DC panel nothing happened, and when I looked behind the panel I sew that switch is not connected to anything. Does that mean the macerator turns on instead...

Re: Turn on Matrix DC Battery Meter

Update - It turns out the wire connector somehow was inserted incorrectly into the socket in the back of the monitor. Once inserted correctly, it is now working again. Ken- Thanks again for your suggestions.
