Re: where to store the main sheet hauler line

hi Dave I'm not sure which line you're talking about. The main sheet is lead aft into the cockpit and the main halyard is also lead back to the cockpit. Are you maybe referring to a reefing line? More information along with your boat year and hull number in your signature line would also be helpful.

Re: Stove top cutting board

Hello I know this is an older posting but I just came across it today. Are you able to sit on top of Yeti? Just wondering if it is stable and of a good height for the helm. Looks very interesting, we currently use a small Coleman in the cockpit for drinks etc. so the Yeti would be a good upgrade for...

Re: ENGINE NOISE-DAMPER REPLACEMENT?

We had the same problem at low RPM - below 1100. We installed a high deflection damper about 400 hours ago and she idles nicely now at 900 -1000RPM.

Re: Changing Raymarine E80 to Garmin

Interesting, I didn't realize the routes are actually saved in the course computer. Makes sense though. I understood from my discussions with RM at the time is that I have the earliest model (150G AST and 6001+) that was compatible with Axiom routing features, got lucky I guess. I also like to use t...

Re: Changing Raymarine E80 to Garmin

Hello Cuthbert Looks like you've found a good solution to your Nav system update. Nice looking install. I went with a pre-cut NavPod too - makes it easier. As you may recall my migration to the Axiom MFD worked out well. The point I'd like to make now is that I do software updates once or twice a ye...

Re: Refrigeration Upgrades - questions

Hello - this question is for RF Baker.

I notice you mentioned digital controls for both the fridge and the freezer. Do you know which units you installed? Also did they improve the temperature control at all, compared to the mechanical thermostats.

Thanks

I believe we got some from Catalina Direct, but that was a few years back, and memory may not be perfect. :)

Re: Iced Copper Line to Alder Barber Compressor

Just jumping in on this old post regarding icing of the low pressure side. I recently had my unit serviced by a "certified" tech. Soon after he left the boat and after watching it for only a few minutes after he had added some R134a (it took 4 grams), the icing started and moved very quick...

Re: cockpit shower

Dan,

The unit I ordered is:

SSI - Stow Away Compact Shower, - p/n SSI48600000

It shipped next day. Its on their website and they emphasize that the units they have will not last long. $219.00.

Cheers

Re: cockpit shower

Hi Steve I did contact Replacement Parts again and was told they just got more stock on the SSi unit that fits my cut-out. I ordered it right away, they may never get anymore of these. So thanks very much for your input! If anybody else is considering changing their older unit, they have them on the...

Re: cockpit shower

Steve et al. Thanks for your input. I had looked at their site a few days ago and was getting excited. When I looked more closely, the complete unit they have uses a bigger box than mine; its wider by approx. 2". I did not see the mixer valve assembly but will contact Mr. Love. I could make my ...

cockpit shower

Last year I ordered a new shower hose and wand for the cockpit. Trying to install it today and found the shower hose connection to the H/C mixer assembly was a problem. The threads on the plastic male connector on the mixer were stripped and the PO had jury rigged a connection. I'm looking to replac...

Wireless remote for the Maxwell windlass

Has anyone added a wireless remote for their windlass. I see them on Amazon and they are quite affordable- all seem to be made in China. Question is can these be used while maintaining the up/down foot buttons in order to use either method? I haven't looked at the windlass solenoid yet but it must h...

Re: Position of chartplotter

Hello One thought that comes to me initially, is not regarding the location as much as it is interfacing an older plotter with your existing ST6000 stuff. As you know the ST60 and ST6000+ use the Seatalk network which is not compatible with even 5 or 6 year old plotters. Going for a plotter older th...

Re: Looking for advice on C350 purchase...

Our C350 is a 2003, hull 035. We don't have any cracks at all. Also, didn't see them on 2 others (350's) that were on the market at the time we purchased ours.

It quite shocking to see that many cracks.

Thanks for you input Teri

Yes! Island Nautical is still in business from what I see on their website. I have requested a quote from them as they do show the C350 as a boat for which they have patterns.

Thanks again, I hope I get a good reply from them.

Cockpit Cushions

We have the original cockpit cushions that would have been delivered with the boat in '03. They're open cell foam and vinyl covered, needless to say they are in rough shape. Has anyone purchased cushions in the past few years? I see Catalina Direct has them for our 350's, but they don't give much de...

Re: Oberdorfer 202m-908

Great information, I like the idea of tweaking the elbow for a little more room. I just had my Oberdorfer replaced after having had new lip seals put in last year, with the water leak recurring after just 50 hours. My diesel tech suggested to go new considering 19 years and 2400 hours the old one ha...

Re: Fridge Compressor -Replacement

Tim; I did not look at a digital replacement. My research on our type of thermostat showed that the original specs regarding the "cut-in and cut-out" temperatures are required for a freezer location i.e.) as on our 350's. That makes our thermostat different than many others that are intend...

Re: Fridge Compressor -Replacement

Another update. Found an on-line source for this thermostat. Supplyhouse.com had some in stock. $35.00 good price, shipping in 3 days. Jerry Collins at Catalina Parts said they do not carry this part, too many different iterations of it over the years so they don't keep up with it. Anyway if anybody...
