Yes we have this problem too, and it caused the bearing to squeak. I think the water gets in when it rains, through the em. tiller access. My tach has also been doing this for the last few years, reads too low at first then reads too high for a while, then reads correctly. When I knock on the glass it bounces to different readings. It's a 2008 with Universal M35B.

We have 2100 hours on our M35B. We're on our third heat exchanger due to this problem. This is a stupid design, with a heavy heat exchanger strapped to a vibrating motor in the worst possible position.
